Log in to your 83ph account, head to the Pool Rummy lobby, and pick a table with a buy-in that suits your bankroll. Tables start from as low as ₱10 entry — great for beginners in Manila or Quezon City testing the waters.
Once all players are seated, each is dealt 13 cards. A random card is selected as the Wild Joker for the round. The remaining deck is placed face-down as the draw pile, with the top card flipped to start the discard pile.
On your turn, draw a card from the pile or discard pile, then discard one. Your goal is to arrange all 13 cards into valid groups: at least two sequences (one must be a pure sequence) plus sets or additional sequences.
Once your hand is complete with all valid groups, discard your final card face-down to the "Finish" slot and declare. The 83ph system validates your declaration instantly. A valid declare scores 0 points for that round.
After each round, all non-winners receive penalty points based on their unmelded cards. In 101 Pool, reaching 101 points means elimination. In 201 Pool, you're out at 201. The last player remaining wins the prize pool minus the platform rake.
3+ consecutive cards of the same suit, no Joker. Example: 4♥ 5♥ 6♥. Required in every valid declaration — no exceptions.
3+ consecutive same-suit cards with one or more Jokers substituting for missing cards. Example: 7♠ Joker 9♠.
3–4 cards of the same rank but different suits. Example: K♥ K♦ K♣. Jokers can substitute for missing suits.
A randomly selected card at the start of each round. All cards of that rank (across all suits) become Wild Jokers for that round.

Before anything else, focus on building a pure sequence in your first few turns. An invalid declaration is instant disqualification — holding a pure sequence in your hand keeps you safe even if opponents declare early.
What your opponents discard tells you what cards they don't need — and often hints at what sequences or sets they're building. If multiple players discard the same suit, that suit's cards are safer to hold.
Never use a Joker to complete a pure sequence — you already have one. Save your Jokers for high-value impure sequences or sets. A Joker completing an Ace-King sequence saves you 20 penalty points if you're eliminated mid-game.
In Pool Rummy, an early drop costs you only 20 points (101 Pool) or 25 points (201 Pool). If your hand is terrible from the start, dropping early is often smarter than grinding through a round and collecting 60–80 penalty points.
Always know where you stand on the scoreboard. If you're sitting at 70 points in a 101 Pool game, play more conservatively — you can only afford 30 more penalty points. Adjust your aggression based on your current total, not just the current hand.
As other players get eliminated, the game dynamics shift. With fewer opponents, the prize pool improves but competition intensifies. Adapt your strategy — what worked against 6 players may not work against 2.
